Homeschool Program
At Grail we support the parent as educator model while giving the family a place to gather, move and connect. The morning balances free play, structured play and visual art giving the child room to explore, create, and connect with other families.
Are you concerned that you are unqualified to teach your children?
Nothing could be further from the truth. Parents are the first teachers. Nobody loves your child more than you and no one can provide more for them than you can. There are also tons of resources online and organized curriculum to help you navigate teaching specific subjects.
Are you concerned that your child will be behind their peers?
Research increasingly supports the importance of unstructured play, movement, creativity, and rest in early childhood development. Young children learn best through exploration, conversation, hands-on experiences, and imaginative play—not solely through extended periods of desk work or passive instruction.
Homeschooling can provide children with the flexibility to learn at an age-appropriate pace while also allowing ample time for curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking to flourish.
Children also benefit from periods of boredom and unstructured time, which encourage problem-solving, innovation, self-direction, and creativity. These experiences help develop the critical thinking and adaptability that are essential in today’s rapidly changing world.
Most importantly, homeschooling recognizes that parents play a vital role in their child’s education. With the right support, resources, and commitment, families are fully capable of creating rich, meaningful learning environments that nurture both academic growth and emotional well-being.
Are you concerned that you will have to shoulder all of the responsibility of the paperwork?
Writing an IHIP and submitting quarterly reports can seem daunting. We have a lot of experience with these and will have dedicated days for parents to work on submitting their reports.
Are you afraid that your children will not be prepared for higher education?
Homeschoolers are absolutely prepared (if not more prepared) for higher education. We’ve navigated middle & high school reports as well as college applications and financial aid.
Are you overwhelmed by the thought of it all?
Like anything worth doing, there will be challenges. If you were not nervous about starting something new, you would be a little crazy. Take a deep breath. If it really is not working, you can always enroll your children into public school. They will not turn you away. If you really want to create something magical, you can absolutely start this journey – especially with a few great allies, like those who have done it and succeeded.
Movement & Coordination
Children will be able to participate in a thirty – minute dedicated movement class. We will offer movements that connect with martial arts and gymnastics.
Unstructured Play
Every day will offer an extended time of unstructured play on our soft training mats. Children will have access to soft materials to build, create, climb and run within the group. Children will be able to make connections with other kids their age. Parents will have time to relax and connect with other parents.
Art & Enrichment
Children will have time to get their hands dirty and create works of art using various mediums such as crayons, markers, paint and 2D crafts. Different types of enrichments will be added to each trimester.
Two Week Trial Program
All prospective families are invited to participate in a two-week trial period before officially joining our program. This allows both the family and our staff the opportunity to ensure the program is a good fit for the child’s needs and interests. While we strive to create a welcoming environment for all children, our program may not be the best fit for every family, and we reserve the right to determine appropriate placement.
Our program is primarily designed for children from preschool through second grade; however, children of all ages are welcome to attend and participate. Older children are encouraged to take on leadership opportunities and serve in supportive mentorship roles within the program.
